Upgrading with YUM

If yum says 'No Packages marked for Update' try this:

you need to do a yum clean all #(to reset fastmirror and get the correct package info.
It would also help to do a yum update yum first. to get a deplist bug fix)
then yum update

Enable nightly yum updates:
su -c '/sbin/chkconfig --level 345 yum-cron on; /sbin/service yum-cron start'

Reporting abuse

Every IP address has an owner. If your firewall log does not include this information, visit whois lookup to look up what ISP owns that address. A report would need to be e-mailed to abuse@domain. For example, our address is abuse@comcast.net, AOL's would be abuse@aol.com, and AT&T WorldNet's would be abuse@worldnet.att.net.

Please forward all intrusion attempts with proper firewall documentation as outlined below to the appropriate ISPs Abuse Department.

1. Provide a brief, general description of the network abuse incident 2. Include all logs or information relevant to the incident, ensure the logs contain: a. Date of incident

  	b. Time of incident and time zone
  	c. Source Internet protocol (IP) address or host name
  	d. Destination IP address or host name
  	e.  Destination port

Change ISPConfig IP

Original site

When you move your hosting server to another ISP or even just change its IP address, you have to update all configuration regarding IP in ISPConfig. Below is my log.

  1. Change distribution specific network settings. system-config-network
      Don't forget Service Network Restart.
  2 Change the ISPConfig IP setting then click 'save' for each website.

  3. Change settings of Apache in /etc/apache2/vhosts.

     perl -pi -e 's/999.100.0.1/999.100.1.1/g' /etc/apache2/vhosts/Vhosts_ispconfig.conf

  4.Change IP in MySQL database.

     mysql -uroot -p

     Then execute a query.

     Make sure all the IPs are updated:  select * from isp_isp_domain;
     If changes are necessary, can use: (but the save, step 2 above should have
     updated these already.)
     update isp_isp_domain set domain_ip = '192.168.1.1' where domain_ip = '192.168.0.1';

  5. Change IP in ISPConfig admin interface.
         * Management -> Server -> Settings

    All done. Note that I was changed 999.100.0.1 to 999.100.1.1.

Find text Commands

    Find text in files from this directory down:
    find . -exec grep "stuff" '{}' \; -print

    This signals 'success' for the first occurrence and the system continues searching for the next file.
    find . -exec grep -q "stuff" '{}' \; -print

    find . -exec grep -ilq "stuff" {} \; -print --this one ignores cAsE and prints filename and goes on to next file.
